Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Task Book ("we", "us") about your use of the Task Book website and app (the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Task Book does
Task Book lets you record the tasks you complete, and can use AI to help you write tasks and generate monthly "brag documents" summarizing your work. The Service is currently provided free of charge.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to agree to these terms. If you use Task Book on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep that account secure.
- The information you give us in your profile should be accurate.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at tanbin.dev@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Your content
You own the tasks, profile details and other content you put into Task Book, and the brag documents generated for you. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending it to our AI provider when you use AI features, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to use it. Please don't enter confidential information that your employer or others don't allow you to share with third-party services.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law, or use the Service to harm, harass or deceive others;
- upload malware or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- try to access other users' data, probe or break our security, or get around usage limits;
- overload the Service, scrape it, or use automated tools against it except as we allow;
- use the AI features to create unlawful or harmful content, or in a way that breaks Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
6. AI-generated content
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unoriginal. You are responsible for reviewing it before using it, for example before sharing a brag document with your manager. We do not guarantee any result, such as a promotion or performance rating.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in and AI), Supabase, Render and Vercel. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we don't control.
8. Our rights
Task Book's software, design and name belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights to them other than to use the Service. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
9. Changes and ending the Service
- We may change, pause or stop all or part of the Service at any time.
- You can stop using Task Book any time, and ask us to delete your account at tanbin.dev@gmail.com.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.
- If we plan to shut down the Service, we will try to give you notice so you can save your content (for example, by exporting your tasks).
10. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will always be available, error-free, or that your data will never be lost, so keep your own copies of anything important.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to USD $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you; nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be waived by law.
12. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
14. General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of Task Book is based, except where your local consumer protection laws say otherwise.
